At this early stage of the Premier League title race, Arsenal’s 1-0 triumph over rivals Man City at the weekend has truly stirred up some ruckus.
It served as a warning to Mikel Arteta that the Gunners would not falter this time around like they did the year before. that they are no longer available to be taken during the most important games.
The victory allowed them to tie Tottenham Hotspur, a rival team from north London, for first position in the standings. Despite having the same record and goal differential, Tottenham Hotspur is ranked second due to their two higher goal total than Arsenal (18).
Arteta’s team looks much better prepared to sustain a title challenge this season thanks to some excellent business in the summer transfer window, and as long as injuries to key players don’t start to bite as they did during 2022–23, there’s every reason to believe that they’ll be there or thereabouts at the finish.
However, there is unquestionably one area where the manager wants to improve, and that is up front.
Ivan Toney of Brentford, who is rumored to be interested in joining the club after serving his suspension from the game, is reportedly the subject of ongoing negotiations between the north Londoners and Toney, according TeamTalk.
That might enable him to sign with Bees’ London rivals in January and contribute fully to helping Arsenal win their first English top-flight championship in 20 years.
