Due to a hand injury, Nicolas Jackson exits the Senegal team.
Nicolas Jackson was called up by Senegal for the international break, but he has since left the group to take care of a hand problem that has been hurting him for a few weeks. Jackson was replaced by Abdallah Sima, a striker currently on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion to Scottish club Rangers.
A little after halfway through the first half of the League Cup game against Brighton, Jackson actually hurt his hand when he landed awkwardly after attempting to take a shot while also being pressed by Carlos Baleba. Despite having his right hand heavily wrapped, Jackson continued to play, and early in the second half, he actually scored the game’s lone goal.
After being suspended from the game against Fulham, Jackson played (and scored again) against Burnley the previous Saturday. He was using a full-on splint this time to keep the injured leg immobile.
I guess he’s finally decided to deal with this problem properly while on vacation. For Chelsea, he won’t be sidelined for very long, but let’s hope he can keep on scoring in every game even without his lucky bandages.
