The Englishman was the Gunners’ undeniable top player until about a month ago. Even if David Raya was Arteta’s choice to replace him, he hadn’t done anything particularly wrong. The manager of Arsenal is staying with his colleague even if it hasn’t worked.

When David Raya was acquired by Arsenal during the summer transfer window, a lot of people were taken aback. Since the Brentford loanee replaced Ramsdale last month, this has only gotten worse. Mikel Arteta is unwilling to let the Spanish goalie go, despite the fact that he is receiving a lot of criticism and making a lot of mistakes. This has left many Arsenal supporters unhappy. The Newcastle United striker said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast,
“Surely he (Ramsdale) will lose faith when the other person isn’t playing as well as they should be and you’re still not getting an opportunity.” “You’re thinking, ‘What the heck is going on?'” In essence, it’s wonderful that someone has shown up and that management wants to check them out. If they’re performing well, there shouldn’t be an issue. “However, you initially paid a substantial amount of money for me.” If someone makes a mistake and you are still denied entry, what should you do? Wilson was then asked whether Ramsdale was “fuming” right now.
“Obviously,” he exclaimed. Arteta has to fire David Raya. Yesterday night, David Raya made his Arsenal debut against Sevilla and was unimpressive as usual. Throughout the first half, the Spaniard mishandled several passes that could have cost the Gunners the match. Then, with Arsenal desperately holding onto their lead at the end of the match, he came perilously near to giving up what would have been a hilarious goal. Arteta made the right decision in introducing Raya to the team and giving him a chance, but in light of Raya’s recent errors, the manager of Arsenal needs to take the tough decision and fire the Spaniard in favor of calling up Ramsdale. But if these past few weeks are any guide, Arteta will stick with Raya, which will, hopefully, force Ramsdale to consider leaving Arsenal.
