    During a dramatic Turkish Super League encounter, the president of a club physically assaulted the referee, prompting the indefinite suspension of league matches in Turkey.

    The incident unfolded after a match between Ankaragucu and Rizespor ended in a 1-1 draw at Eryaman Stadium in Ankara. As the game ended with a late equalizer, Ankaragucu’s president, Faruk Koca, verbally abused the referee and subsequently attacked him with a punch, leading to chaotic scenes on the pitch.

    The referee was then attacked by an unidentified individual while he was on the ground. The altercation resulted in the suspension of league matches in Turkey, causing a disruption in the nation’s football scene.
