Chelsea supporters are calling for Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal after the team’s 2-1 loss to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday. The former PSG coach is facing criticism due to the team’s poor performance at Molineux, leading to pressure mounting on him.
Despite making significant signings in the summer, Chelsea has struggled for consistency in the Premier League, managing only six wins out of their initial 18 games. Goals from Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty in the second half secured the win for Wolves, marking Chelsea’s eighth loss of the year.
Christopher Nkunku scored a late header on his Premier League debut, reducing the deficit for Pochettino’s team. Chelsea fans expressed their frustration on social media platforms, with the hashtag #PochettinoOut trending.
Criticism ranged from tactical decisions to player selections, with fans pointing fingers at Pochettino for benching Nkunku and starting what they considered to be underperforming strikers. Disappointment with the team’s setup, tactics, and significant investments without substantial improvement dominated supporters’ comments, calling for Pochettino’s immediate dismissal.
Pochettino, however, believed Chelsea should have gained more from the match, stating that despite creating numerous chances in the first half, the team couldn’t convert them into goals.
Looking ahead, the Chelsea team and supporters anticipate an immediate response when Chelsea faces Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
