The dawn of the approaching year presents an opportunity for several peripheral players within Chelsea’s roster to seek new avenues for increased playing time elsewhere. Although the club already has numerous players out on loan, navigating loan rules may pose challenges in relocating specific members of the existing squad during the remainder of the season.
Nonetheless, when the January transfer window opens, there are three players the Blues should consider finding temporary residences for. One of these individuals is Noni Madueke, who Chelsea acquired in the previous January transfer window. Despite his potential, the winger has seen limited action, making only one start in the Premier League this season. The presence of other talented players like Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk might make him consider a permanent departure from the club, although his potential, acknowledged by Frank Lampard, suggests a temporary loan might be a better option.
Armando Broja, although not a top priority for Chelsea’s loan list, could benefit from seeking regular playing time elsewhere, especially if the club brings in a new center-forward. Despite receiving some game time as a substitute, a potential arrival of prominent forwards like Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney might push him further down the pecking order, making a loan move more favorable.
Lesley Ugochukwu, initially expected to head out on loan upon his arrival at Chelsea from Rennes, remained at the club initially due to circumstances, notably Romeo Lavia’s injury. However, with increased competition for places, Ugochukwu might struggle for playing minutes amidst the presence of Belgian, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher, and others. Hence, seeking a loan move might be his best option to secure game time in the latter half of the season.
