Arsenal is set to face West Ham in a London derby on Thursday evening.
The Gunners will play host to the Hammers at the Emirates Stadium, aiming to recover after a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Frank Lampard, a former England international, has shared his predictions for West Ham’s trip to the Emirates.
Lampard anticipates a 3-0 victory for Arsenal, highlighting the Emirates as an increasingly challenging venue for opponents. However, he warns against underestimating David Moyes and his team, acknowledging their current strong form and resilience.
Speaking on the BBC, Lampard noted, “This will be a tricky match for Arsenal. West Ham has been performing well, securing sixth place in the table and proving tough to break down. David Moyes, the manager, is underrated and underappreciated by some fans, despite his team’s successes.”
“Nevertheless, I’m backing Arsenal for the win. They have been formidable at home, winning their last seven matches across all competitions. Even though West Ham will put in a strong effort, I don’t think they will keep Arsenal from scoring,” Lampard added.
Lampard predicts a 3-0 victory for Arsenal.
Currently leading the Premier League, Arsenal’s main goal is to maintain their position at the top. Despite being closely pursued by Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester City, Lampard believes that Arteta and the team possess the necessary experience to sustain a title challenge, drawing from their 248-day lead last season. Reflecting on last season’s loss in this fixture, Lampard emphasized the importance of not repeating past mistakes that significantly affected their title aspirations.
