Following his late inclusion off the bench during last night’s 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace, Lavia marked his debut for the Blues.
The former Manchester City academy player showcased several skillful moves, contributing to the team’s win, sealed by Noni Madueke’s late penalty, securing a crucial three-point lead for the Blues.
However, Lavia had to leave the field appearing to be in significant discomfort, possibly due to a thigh problem.
Expressing concern, Pochettino stated, “I’m a bit worried about Lavia.” He showed some concerns at the end, but hopefully, they aren’t too severe.
Before Lavia, who was visibly fatigued and substituted in the second half, Christopher Nkunku, another summer signing plagued by injuries this season, displayed some promising signs.
Pochettino remarked, “Yes, there were some very good combinations.” However, there’s a need for more consistency.
“In 45 minutes, it’s more than just one, two, three, or four actions. Although it’s normal, I think he needs to be more involved. It was his first seventy minutes.”
“I believe after 45 minutes, he was a bit tired and struggled a bit.” However, this is expected. He requires game time and relaxation. He needs to integrate with the team, and the players will adapt to him.
