“Cease attributing blame to me; I’m not the issue,” cautioned Thiago Silva, highlighting that someone else was responsible for the team conceding three late goals against Luton Town. Silva emphasized that this individual completed merely two passes and had fewer touches than the goalkeeper, revealing the involvement of others behind the team’s failures.

Chelsea concluded their 2023 campaign with back-to-back wins, securing a 3-2 victory against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in the Premier League on Saturday.

Cole Palmer showcased his impressive start at the club by scoring two well-crafted goals, while Noni Madueke added to his recent success by netting a brilliant strike past Thomas Kaminski, following his triumph over Crystal Palace.

Despite Luton managing to score twice through Elijah Adebayo and Ross Barkley in the final moments, hitting the crossbar twice of Djordje Petrovic, Chelsea held on for the win.

With this victory, Chelsea’s gap to Manchester City in fourth place narrowed to just nine points. However, seasoned defender Thiago Silva appeared displeased at the full-time whistle, seen standing on the halfway line shaking his head. He also seemed agitated, asking the TNT Sports camera team to stay away from him and engaging in a disagreement with Enzo Fernandez.

Silva’s exact frustration remains unknown, but it might be related to Chelsea allowing Luton to claw back into the game after initially leading 3-0.

After the match, Madueke praised his teammates for securing all three points, expressing, “I felt we held our ground in those final moments. It was a tough situation, and truthfully, we made it challenging for ourselves. Nonetheless, I’m relieved we managed to claim three points. It’s a significant achievement against a team that has troubled many top sides this year.”
