John Obi Mikel recently acknowledged that Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne possesses the best right foot in football. The former elite midfielder, in a video on Goal’s TikTok channel, was tasked with constructing his dream football player and selected Lionel Messi for the perfect left foot. When asked about the finest right foot, Mikel chose De Bruyne, despite anticipating some backlash from Cristiano Ronaldo fans.
De Bruyne, acquired for £55 million from Wolfsburg in 2015, is currently in his ninth season with Manchester City. The 32-year-old has played 361 games for the club, contributing 155 assists and 97 goals. Notably, 44 of his 65 Premier League goals have come from his right foot, showcasing its dominance. While his right foot is prominent, De Bruyne’s left foot has also made significant goal contributions.
With 21 left-footed goals and a consistent impact, City has undeniably benefited from De Bruyne’s overall prowess. Despite a hamstring surgery layoff, the midfielder has returned, and if he remains healthy, he is expected to play a crucial role in City’s pursuit of titles in the current season.
