After a highly publicized conflict with Erik ten Hag, which led to his exclusion from the first-team squad after just three Premier League matches this season, the winger is spending the latter half of the 2023/2024 season back at his former club, Borussia Dortmund, as a result of the rift with the manager.

Upon his return to Old Trafford in June, little is expected to change in the relationship between the two, as they did not reconcile before his loan move in January.

There seems to be no way back for Sancho at Old Trafford. Football Insider suggests that Sancho will be offloaded permanently once the transfer market opens, provided any interested parties meet his asking price, which is likely to be considerably lower than the £73 million United paid for him in 2021.

This sentiment seems to be shared by the club’s hierarchy, suggesting a consensus among the managerial staff.

Having made nine appearances for both Manchester United and Dortmund this season, the 23-year-old Sancho is yet to find the net for either side. However, he did provide two assists in the Bundesliga in his first two games back in black and yellow.
