Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s representative has hinted at potential future moves for the Napoli star, reviving previous speculation linking him with Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.
Despite Napoli’s focus on securing European places this season, Kvaratskhelia has been in impressive form, scoring 14 league goals in 25 games.
Earlier reports suggested interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City, with a potential transfer fee reaching up to €100 million.
Looking ahead to the summer transfer market, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, discussed his client’s future plans with Gazzetta dello Sport, stating, “We are in discussions with the club. We’ll see what happens.
If another club presents an offer that the management can’t refuse, he may move. I can’t comment on specific sums as those are De Laurentiis’ estimates. My focus is on defending Khvicha’s contract and career. Everything will become clear by the end of May.”
While Jugeli didn’t delve into specifics about the transfer fee, his remarks suggest that Kvaratskhelia may be open to a move at the end of the season.
However, Chelsea could face competition from other clubs, and their transfer budget might be contingent on securing European football. Currently, Chelsea sits 11th in the table, six points behind a potential Europa League spot with a game in hand.
Although Kvaratskhelia’s agency provided a cryptic comment about his future, a family member of the winger has already disclosed his preferred destination.
Following Napoli’s loss to Real Madrid in November, Kvaratskhelia’s father revealed, “Playing against Real Madrid was special for Khvicha.
He has always dreamt of playing for Real Madrid, and I believe he still does. Everyone in my family loves Los Blancos, except for me. So, it was a truly memorable match.”
