Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has been granted lifetime membership at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
Fergusonās association with Frankfurt dates back to 1979 when he managed Aberdeen and faced Frankfurt in a UEFA Cup tie, ultimately losing 2-1 on aggregate.
During this seasonās Europa Conference League group stage, Frankfurt clashed with Aberdeen again. Before their 2-0 defeat at Pittodrie in December, a delegation from Frankfurt visited Ferguson.
In an interview with Frankfurtās website, Ferguson reflected on his encounters with Frankfurt during his Aberdeen days, acknowledging their superiority in the matches. He recalled learning an important lesson about player conduct abroad following the games.
As a proud Scotsman and former manager of the Scotland national team, Ferguson is eagerly anticipating Scotlandās Euro 2024 opening match against host nation Germany.
When asked about Scotlandās chances, Ferguson humorously dismissed Germanyās prospects and expressed excitement about watching the game live.
He fondly reminisced about Scottish fansā enthusiasm and their unique traditions, including wearing kilts, which he finds remarkable. While he wonāt be wearing one at the European Championships, he looks forward to enjoying the tournament.
