Chelsea has reportedly offered Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in anticipation of the upcoming transfer window, aiming to bolster their squad following a lackluster Premier League campaign. Victor Osimhen of Napoli is speculated to be their primary target, necessitating the potential sale of players like Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and potentially Thiago Silva, who may seek a return to Fluminense to facilitate such a signing.
However, Real Madrid has opted against pursuing Fernandez and Cucurella, redirecting their focus towards other targets such as Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies, and Leny Yoro, with Trent Alexander-Arnold also on their radar. Real Madrid considers Davies a superior left-back to Cucurella and does not view Fernandez as an upgrade to their midfield, which already boasts considerable talent.
Despite Chelsea’s substantial investment of €186.5m in Fernandez and Cucurella, neither player has lived up to expectations. Fernandez showed promise initially but struggled in the current season, while Cucurella finds himself sidelined when Ben Chilwell is available. Despite rumors of Cucurella’s potential departure, Chelsea remains in the market for a left-back.
