After losing to Real Madrid on penalties in the midweek Champions League match despite dominating the second leg, Manchester City is eager to recover.
They have a chance to reach the FA Cup final, but doing so without their star player, who has scored 31 goals this season, will be a challenge.
Haaland was forced off the pitch due to injury during the Madrid game. Julian Alvarez replaced him for the final 30 minutes and took penalties.
Guardiola commented on the injuries to Haaland, De Bruyne, and Akanji, saying, “They wanted to continue but couldn’t.”
While Haaland may face an extended period on the sidelines, both Akanji and De Bruyne are fit enough to start the upcoming game.
Guardiola had ruled Haaland out of the match beforehand, saying, “He can’t play today, but I don’t think it’s serious.”
When questioned about Haaland’s availability for the midweek game against Brighton, Guardiola responded, “I don’t know.”
Having rejoined City in January after missing several weeks due to a foot injury that sidelined him over the Christmas break and during the Club World Cup, Haaland is now dealing with a muscular problem.
He will likely have to watch from the sidelines as his team aims for another Wembley final.
