David Beckham has expressed his admiration for a Manchester City player. With his extensive experience, having played 724 matches for teams like Manchester United, AC Milan, and Real Madrid, Beckham understands what it takes to be a top player.
Now, as the owner of Inter Miami, he has commented on a player in Pep Guardiola’s team that he particularly likes.
In a recent BBC Sport TikTok video, Beckham and his former United teammate Gary Neville were asked to compare players from United’s 1999 team to Guardiola’s current City team.
Neville chose Phil Foden over Dwight Yorke, to which Beckham responded, “I’d go Yorkey too. Still, I love Phil, I really do. I love how much he cares about the club.”
Phil Foden, a local hero for City, started as a youth player at the club and made his senior debut in 2017 during a Champions League match against Feyenoord. Since then, he has made 269 appearances, scored 87 goals, and provided 52 assists.
Beckham’s praise for Foden comes after the City star won the FWA Footballer of the Year award. Beckham highlighted Foden’s importance to City, his professionalism, and his alignment with the club’s playing style.
Given Foden’s strong connection to Manchester City, it’s not surprising that Beckham admires both his talent and his passion for the club.
