Nedum Onuoha has suggested that two Manchester City players might leave the club soon.
Recently, several Manchester United players have moved on to further their careers elsewhere. With another transfer window approaching, a former City player and analyst has shared his thoughts on potential changes for the Blues, naming two players from Pep Guardiola’s team who might depart.
In a video on the ESPN FC YouTube channel, Onuoha discussed the situation.
He said, “Every summer, there’s talk of Bernardo Silva going to Barcelona. I wouldn’t be surprised this year, and I’ve heard rumors that Grealish might also leave.”
“I think it would be a shame to lose either of those two, but that’s the feeling I get. I think the next year to 18 months will see significant changes for the squad.”
City cannot afford to lose two key players this summer. Silva has often been linked with a move away, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested.
He signed a contract extension until 2026 last summer, but his current deal includes a £50 million release clause, which could end his time at City if another club activates it.
Grealish, who has recently been linked with Bayern Munich, has only started 10 of his 20 Premier League games this season.
Considering City has the smallest roster in the Premier League, they cannot afford to lose players without adequate replacements.
Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, if they can’t prevent Silva’s release clause from being triggered, they should retain Grealish and look to strengthen the squad where possible.
