Julian Alvarez has responded to reports of a potential £42 million move to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Manchester City forward, who had impressive seasons in 2022–23 and 2023–24, insists he is happy at City despite rumors of a transfer to West London.
Alvarez stated in an ESPN interview, “These are things that are spoken, but I am peaceful, at ease, and pleased at City. We’ll watch to see what transpires.”
Amidst Chelsea’s search for a new striker due to Nicolas Jackson’s inconsistent performance, Alvarez was also linked to Paris Saint-Germain as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
In other news, Chelsea has reportedly agreed to a £42 million deal for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran. Guillermo Arango of Colombia reports that Chelsea and Villa have reached an agreement, and Duran’s contract negotiations with Chelsea are ongoing.
Duran’s agent, Jonathan Herrera, mentioned last month that Duran was unhappy with his limited playing time at Villa, despite his strong performances.
