Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared his insights on the rumored deal between Saudi Pro League’s Al Ittihad and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City. De Bruyne’s contract is set to expire next summer when he will be 33 years old.
Since joining Manchester City from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015, De Bruyne has been a vital player for the team, contributing significantly with 102 goals and 170 assists in 382 appearances across all competitions.
Despite his contract nearing its end, and speculation about Saudi Arabian interest, Romano tweeted that Al Ittihad, who are reportedly close to signing Moussa Diaby, were downplaying rumors of De Bruyne’s transfer.
Romano also mentioned that the Saudi Pro League team is keen on acquiring goalkeeper Ederson, though this deal is expected to be complicated.
Pep Guardiola’s team recently secured a remarkable fourth consecutive Premier League title, their sixth in seven years, setting new records in English football history.
However, their 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup final prevented them from becoming the first team to win consecutive English domestic doubles.
