Manchester City fans are in a state of panic after Kyle Walker made comments ahead of the new season, with some saying, “We are done” and “No thanks.”
Walker’s recent statements have caused a stir on social media, leading to widespread concern among supporters.
After a successful run with England in the European Championships, where he played a key role in taking the team to the final against Spain, the 34-year-old has returned to Manchester City.
Although he missed the preseason tour in the United States due to his extended vacation, Walker is now back at the City Football Academy, ready for the new season.
As the Manchester City captain and right-back, Walker has been reflecting on his goals for the upcoming season, one of which is to score more goals.
In a podcast interview with BBC Sounds, titled “You Will Never Beat Kyle Walker,” he expressed his ambition to contribute more goals in the 2024-2025 season.
Walker told co-host Chris Hughes, “I think I get into good positions, so I’m definitely going to try to score a few more goals this season.” He added, “I’m 34 years old now, so I need to start adding that to my game.”
Walker was so confident in his ability to score that he promised to take Hughes out to lunch the day after he scores for Pep Guardiola’s team.
Scoring a goal would be a significant improvement for Walker, who played in 47 matches across all competitions last season without scoring but managed to provide five assists.
Despite some speculation about his future during the summer transfer window, including interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, there has been little development on that front.
It is now expected that Kyle Walker will remain with Manchester City for the upcoming season and possibly beyond, continuing in his role as captain.
