Manchester City suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season to Bournemouth, fielding a side impacted by injuries.
Previously, Bournemouth had drawn with Aston Villa and defeated Arsenal at home. City’s heavily rotated squad also narrowly lost to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup midweek, marking their first overall defeat of the season.
Pep Guardiola saw the return of Jeremy Doku, Kyle Walker, and Kevin De Bruyne, while Josko Gvardiol, Savinho, and Manu Akanji were back from injury. However, Ruben Dias and John Stones were still sidelined.
City’s performance struggled, with Antoine Semenyo scoring for Bournemouth in the first half. Despite a late goal from Gvardiol, City fell 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium after Evanilson extended Bournemouth’s lead in the second half.
