Manchester City’s struggles continued with a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, adding to their string of disappointing performances.
The game began chaotically as Palace struck early, with Daniel Munoz scoring in the fourth minute. City’s defensive frailties were evident, and they were fortunate not to fall further behind thanks to a crucial block by Ruben Dias.
Erling Haaland leveled the score with a header, but Palace regained the lead through Maxence Lacroix, who netted his first goal in English football.
Rico Lewis equalized for City but was later sent off after receiving a controversial second yellow card, halting City’s momentum.
Despite dominating possession and showing some attacking promise, City’s defensive issues continue to haunt them.
However, Matheus Nunes shone brightly once again, delivering another standout performance. Nunes created four chances, completed three successful dribbles, and maintained an impressive 92% pass accuracy.
Defensively, he was equally impactful, recovering the ball five times and making critical clearances and tackles.
This season, Nunes has emerged as one of City’s top performers, rivalling stars like Haaland, Dias, and Kevin De Bruyne. Adapting to a new role, he has excelled both on and off the ball.
His consistent displays earned him the Player of the Month award for November, a rare highlight in an otherwise challenging campaign for City.
