Manchester City found an equalizer just before halftime against Chelsea. Robert Sanchez made an initial save from Matheus Nunes’ shot, but Josko Gvardiol was quick to capitalize with a tap-in.
At first glance, it appeared Gvardiol was clearly offside, but surprisingly, Noni Madueke had kept him onside. Madueke also failed to properly track Man City’s left-back, adding to the defensive lapse.
After an early opener, Madueke struggled on both ends of the pitch, leaving Chelsea fans frustrated:
– “How can Madueke provide no defensive cover and still play the entire team onside? Get him off at halftime—he’s a liability.”
– “Madueke kept City onside and still couldn’t stop Gvardiol from outrunning him to score.”
– “Madueke didn’t even check the defensive line. What’s he doing out there?”
– “WHAT IS THIS DEFENSIVE LINE??? Madueke, seriously!”
Chelsea fans are clearly unhappy with Madueke’s performance as the team looks to regroup for the second half.
