There is still a fairly strong chance that Milos Kerkez could become a Liverpool player next season.
The Hungarian international, who occasionally shares the field with fellow countryman and Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
While the 21-year-old has yet to explicitly express interest in such a transfer, there have been signs that he may be considering an exit from Bournemouth at the end of the season.
Kerkez’s Agent is Active
Interestingly, the Serbian fullback has admitted that his agent is already exploring potential opportunities ahead of the next transfer window.
“As a kid, you dream of playing at the highest level, winning trophies, and being part of the best teams,” Kerkez told *The Athletic.*
“These are matters my agent and my father are handling. They don’t involve me in it because the season is still ongoing, so there’s no point in discussing anything right now.
“There are games left, and the FA Cup is important for us—these are big things. And like I always say, when someone approaches you, you never know what will happen or where you’ll end up. We’ll see how things unfold in the summer.”
It’s a smart approach from Kerkez to distance himself from transfer discussions—this allows him to remain focused on the remainder of the season with Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth while keeping his options open.
His performances in the 2024/25 campaign have certainly been impressive, with the left-back earning an average Premier League rating of 7.08/10, according to Sofascore.
Cautious About Liverpool Speculation
When asked about Liverpool fans urging him to make the switch, Kerkez’s response was understandably reserved.
“I can’t say I don’t see it,” the Bournemouth defender admitted.
“When people claim they don’t notice things being said about them, I think that’s not entirely true.
“It just depends on whether it affects you or not. If someone says something negative, I keep doing my job, and if someone says something positive, I still just do my job.”
At the very least, this confirms that Kerkez is well aware of Liverpool supporters’ interest in him.
Some believe there might be more to the story than he is letting on, with reports suggesting that he privately hopes to join Arne Slot’s squad in the summer.
Whether a transfer is actively being worked on behind the scenes by his agent—possibly without direct involvement from Kerkez himself—remains to be seen.
