Liverpool Considering Player-Swap Deal to Secure Alexander Isak Transfer
Liverpool may offer Newcastle United the chance to sign some of their first-team players as part of a potential deal for Alexander Isak this summer, according to reports.
Newcastle are unlikely to sell the Swedish striker unless they receive an extraordinary offer, making him a difficult target for Liverpool.
However, the Reds could try to lower the price by including players such as Harvey Elliott, Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah, or Ben Doak in the deal, as per TBR Football.
Newcastle had previously shown interest in Gomez last summer, but it remains to be seen if a player-plus-cash offer would be enough to convince them to part with their star forward.
Isak has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 28 goals and registering six assists across all competitions for both club and country.
Liverpool’s Determination to Land Isak
Despite the financial challenge, Liverpool appear eager to strengthen their attack, making a serious push for Isak’s signature.
However, Newcastle remain ambitious and recently demonstrated their ability to compete with top clubs by defeating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Manager Eddie Howe has built a strong squad, and Isak may feel he can continue achieving success at St James’ Park.
That said, Financial Fair Play regulations could force Newcastle to consider a significant offer for the striker.
If a deal materializes, Newcastle could potentially soften the blow of losing Isak by acquiring promising talents like Elliott or Quansah, who could thrive with regular game time.
