Manchester City is reportedly preparing a major bid for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Real Madrid Confidential.
The club, currently underperforming and facing the possibility of missing out on Champions League qualification, sees the 22-year-old Frenchman as a crucial addition for their long-term plans.
Pep Guardiola has been particularly impressed with Camavinga’s display against City in this season’s Champions League and has placed him high on his transfer wishlist.
The report also notes that City’s strong ties with Camavinga’s agency, CAA Stellar, could help ease negotiations.
Although Camavinga has enjoyed considerable success at Real Madrid—winning two LaLiga titles and two Champions League trophies—the club has publicly stated they have no plans to sell him.
Still, a substantial offer from City might prompt a reconsideration, though the final decision would lie with both the club and the player.
City’s pursuit of Camavinga is part of a broader effort to bolster their squad ahead of next season. The club is also monitoring other targets, including Nottingham Forest right-back Ola Aina, who is reportedly also on Liverpool’s radar.
In addition, City scouts are keeping an eye on emerging talent, such as 15-year-old Ecuadorian winger Justin Cuero Martinez from Independiente del Valle’s youth setup.
Known for a playing style reminiscent of PSG’s Ousmane Dembele, Martinez has also drawn interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
