Paul Merson Predicts Arsenal vs PSG Champions League Semi-Final Winner

Former Arsenal star and football pundit Paul Merson has shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated Champions League semi-final clash between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. With both legs expected to deliver top-level football, Merson admits the tie could go either way—but he’s given a slight edge to his former club.

While Merson acknowledges PSG’s strength, especially with their attacking talent and European experience, he believes Arsenal have shown enough this season to go toe-to-toe with any team. “PSG are a fantastic side with world-class players who can change a game in a second,” Merson said. “But Arsenal are organized, hungry, and playing with real belief right now.”

Merson initially hesitated to back the Gunners, citing their lack of experience in the latter stages of the Champions League compared to PSG. However, he pointed to Arsenal’s strong defensive structure, midfield control, and unity under Mikel Arteta as reasons they could come out on top.

He predicts a tight contest over both legs but feels Arsenal’s balance and tactical discipline could give them the edge. “If they keep their nerve, I think Arsenal can just about edge this one,” Merson concluded.
