Chelsea Open to Offers for Renato Veiga This Summer.
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for Renato Veiga ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. The 21-year-old joined the Blues last summer in a surprising €14 million move from Swiss side FC Basel. At the time, Veiga was primarily brought in to serve as a backup option to Marc Cucurella at left-back.
Despite his versatility, which allows him to play across the defense and midfield, Veiga has struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team. His limited game time and Chelsea’s ongoing efforts to trim their squad could see him depart after just one season at Stamford Bridge.
Veiga’s signing last summer raised eyebrows, as he was relatively unknown compared to Chelsea’s other big-name recruits. Although he showed glimpses of potential, competition for places has been fierce, and the club now appears willing to cash in on him if a suitable offer arrives.
Chelsea’s focus this summer is expected to be on strengthening key areas and offloading fringe players to comply with financial regulations. Veiga could be one of several players on the move as the club reshapes its squad for the new campaign.
