German media reports that Jamal Musiala is increasingly likely to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. Since 2023, the 21-year-old has been in sporadic talks with the club about a new deal, and these discussions have picked up pace recently. Bayern is keen to make Musiala the long-term face of the club, with his current contract set to expire in 2026.
The midfielder’s impressive form for both club and country this season has caught the attention of top European clubs, especially as his contract situation has become more prominent.
Despite speculation linking him to clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City, Sky Germany reports a “clear trend” that suggests Musiala will sign an extension with Bayern.
As part of the new deal, Musiala will secure a record salary. His total contract value is expected to exceed €120 million, including agent fees and bonuses. With a projected annual salary of €25 million, Musiala will become the highest-paid German footballer and one of Bayern’s top earners.
Currently, Bayern’s highest-paid player is striker Harry Kane, with an estimated base salary of €25 million. However, Sky Germany has acknowledged that details of Kane’s contract are inconsistent.
Regardless, Musiala is expected to surpass Kane in earnings, though the exact length of his contract remains uncertain, with discussions ongoing about whether it will span four or five years.
