After Chelsea’s 1-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Sunday, co-owner Behdad Eghbali was spotted avoiding furious fans.
The club’s co-presidents, Todd Boehly and Eghbali, are said to have addressed the team in the locker room after the Blues once again put on a poor performance that led to their being jeered off the field by their own supporters.
Following the game, a video of Eghbali was posted online in which several Chelsea fans could be seen rushing after him and yelling questions at him.
A security guard was seen helping Eghbali as he jumped into the back of a black vehicle.
Watch how quickly he’s moving! A Chelsea supporter was seen chanting on CCTV just before the car door slammed shut.
Chelsea’s fortunes have been declining since Boehly and Eghbali succeeded Roman Abramovich, and despite the club’s massive player expenditure last season, they finished in a surprisingly low 12th place in the top flight.
Things haven’t gotten any better for the west Londoners this season, and the pressure is growing with only one victory in their first six Premier League games.
Gary Neville, on the other hand, criticized the Chelsea management following Chelsea’s loss to Villa at Stamford Bridge.
How is Chelsea doing? He mentioned on his podcast. “What is happening? Mauricio Pochettino is a manager I have a lot of faith in, but he has a lot of cards and is unsure which hand to play.
“It’s a mystery what’s going on at Chelsea.” Occasionally, a club simply becomes chaotic. In my opinion, they might alter the way they run their business. I don’t think this will continue the way things are going. It’s crazy.
