At Stamford Bridge, a former Real Madrid boss was seen as Chelsea suffered yet another humiliating home loss in the Premier League.
The Blues suffered their second home defeat of the campaign last Saturday when Mauricio Pochettino’s team fell to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
Chelsea lost to West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Ollie Watkin’s second-half goal to hand them their third league loss of the year.
Pochettino, who just recently joined the team in the summer, is already under increasing pressure.
The 51-year-old has urged tolerance despite Chelsea’s poor start to the new season.
But could Julen Lopetegui take over if Todd Boehly does fire the former manager of Southampton, Tottenham, and Paris Saint-Germain?
According to Birmingham World, Lopetegui was present at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s most recent loss.
The Spaniard, who oversaw Wolves last season, was seen entering and exiting a hospitality area. It is believed that he is waiting for a promotion back to the Premier League.
He spent a brief time at Wolves, where he helped the team finish the season in 13th place overall. In the summer, the 57-year-old left the Midlands team.
Since leaving Wolves, Lopetegui, who has managed Real, Sevilla, and the Spain national team, has been jobless, but he appears to be considering a managerial position in England’s top division.
In contrast, after Chelsea’s loss to Villa, Pochettino urged his squad to “grow up.”
He remarked, “We need to develop as a team, not just as individuals. “I believe that young players like Nico who are adjusting to the Premier League need time,”We compete and want to win in this kind of game because winning is what football is all about. However, young players must also experience, learn from, and make mistakes. We are therefore disappointed since there are far too many instances of this.
