In response to Rashford’s performance, Ten Hag opted to bench him for the crucial midweek clash against Chelsea, choosing Alejandro Garnacho following the disappointing outcome against Newcastle.
Former Manchester United player Patrice Evra heavily criticized Rashford’s display against Newcastle, stating, “I was quite content with the Champions League performance, but the Newcastle game was unprofessional; players seemed disinterested on the field.”
