Chelsea captain Reece James has shared an Instagram post during his recovery from a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old’s last appearance for the Blues was on December 10th, playing 27 minutes against Everton. After deliberation by Chelsea’s medical staff, surgery was deemed the best option for James, who has struggled with injuries in the past two years. While his return to the field may take a few months, James is diligently training behind the scenes to come back stronger.
On Monday, James posted a photo on social media showing himself in the gym wearing Chelsea training gear. Alongside the photo, he wrote, “On the mend. Hope and wish you all the best.”
This isn’t the first time James has communicated with his fans. After his surgery, he shared on Instagram, “The footballing world knew I got injured, but the procedure I would go down this time took slightly longer to figure out the best solution.”
“I had surgery today to try to fix my recurring hamstring problem; the recovery process has begun, both physically and mentally.” James expressed gratitude for the support he received and emphasized his desire to play football without injuries.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has utilized Malo Gusto and Axel Disasi in James’s absence, and they have performed admirably. Pochettino recently mentioned James’s progress, stating, “I think he feels well. We were conversing, and he mentioned that he had begun his recuperation, and that he was one day closer to rejoining the group.”
“We’re all positive around him; we’re going to help, and we’re going to be involved in this way. Now is the time to begin the healing process. One day less till he becomes a member of the group, which we will see positively.”
“The most important thing is to start to solve the problem and of course, helping him to be strong, being positive, because it is an important thing and that is why this amazing institute that the club has to support in that case for Reece to be in his best form and recover as soon as possible.”
