In a surprising turn of events this evening, a Premier League manager has been dismissed, and Jose Mourinho has stepped in as the replacement.

The Manchester United legend entertains the idea of “The Special One” taking charge of Newcastle and the England national team, though he acknowledges the unlikelihood of these scenarios.

After two and a half years with Roma, Mourinho departed, securing only eight victories in 20 Serie A matches this year. The 60-year-old is reportedly in talks with Napoli and has been linked to Saudi Pro League teams, hinting at a swift reemployment.

Mourinho, having managed top European clubs, including Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, United, and Tottenham, holds an illustrious career. While Chelsea remains the only team he revisited, the prospect of a third stint at Stamford Bridge appears improbable, according to Ferdinand.

Addressing the possibility of Mourinho returning to Chelsea on the Vibe with Five podcast, the former England and United defender asserted, “No chance.” Ferdinand expressed his admiration for Chelsea’s owners, noting they don’t regress in terms of talent or class.

Despite his personal desire to see Mourinho back at Chelsea, Ferdinand considers it unlikely, especially with the club’s preference for continuity under Pochettino. Ferdinand suggests Mourinho might be a good fit for Newcastle or England, but he acknowledges the success of Eddie Howe at Newcastle and deems the FA’s shift from Gareth Southgate to Mourinho improbable.

In his words, “It’s not happening. That’s like switching from ready salted to vindaloo.”
