Arsenal seems to have potentially identified the striker who can bring much-needed goal-scoring prowess to Mikel Arteta’s squad next summer.
The pairing of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah this season has not yielded the desired results for Arsenal. While they perform well in the majority of games, their lack of a ruthless goal-scoring instinct is consistently evident.
Arteta’s team appears to be caught in a cycle, placing full trust in this duo only to realize that something is missing. Despite both being competent players, there’s a perception that the two are too similar, offering little variation when one replaces the other.
With Jesus perceived as the stronger of the two, speculation suggests that Nketiah might be sold in the summer to make way for Arsenal to sign a new striker.
In this context, Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has recently reported that Joshua Zirkzee could be the striker to make a significant impact. According to La Gazzetta, Arsenal is prepared to allocate €50 million (£43 million) to acquire Zirkzee in the upcoming summer transfer window.
