After Rodri voiced his grievances, Pep Guardiola dismissively brushed aside inquiries about the officiating during Manchester City’s match against Chelsea.

City’s frustration was palpable throughout the game as several decisions went against them, despite multiple VAR checks for penalties resulting in no awards for the home team. “I don’t want to dwell on the referee, but I can’t recall a match with so many VAR checks and none in our favor,” Rodri lamented post-match.

When asked about Rodri’s comments, Guardiola sought clarification on specific incidents. “Which ones? I’m not entirely sure,” he responded. “If you can specify the exact decisions, I can comment. However, we need to perform better in the first half.”

In response to a query about the late penalty call involving Ruben Dias and Levi Colwill, Guardiola jokingly quipped, “Which one? Which one occurred in the Chelsea box? I didn’t notice.”

Despite Rodri’s frustration with the decisions, he concurred with the team’s need for improvement, emphasizing individual accountability and defensive enhancements.

“It’s on us to perform better in crucial moments,” he asserted. “We must take responsibility if we aim to win the league; I’m not assigning blame.

“We had momentum and chances to win, but sometimes luck isn’t on our side. It can be frustrating.”
