Manchester United supporters were left shocked by another VAR controversy in their 1-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday (4 November).
The Red Devils saw a goal disallowed in the first half when VAR ruled Harry Maguire to be marginally offside from a free kick in the 11th minute.
Although the former United captain did not make contact with the ball, officials determined that he was interfering with play before Scott McTominay scored what could have been his fourth goal of the season.
Surprisingly, it took four minutes for the VAR review to be completed, and Erik ten Hag’s visibly frustrated reaction on the touchline conveyed his feelings about the decision.
Despite an inconsistent performance at Craven Cottage, Bruno Fernandes secured all three points for United with a stoppage-time goal from just inside the box, dealing a blow to the home crowd.
Once again, United fans are left feeling aggrieved by VAR and believe their club has been on the receiving end of unfavorable decisions in the Premier League this season.
