Carlo Ancelotti approached referee Jesus Gil Manzano seeking clarification after Jude Bellingham’s late winning goal was disallowed against Valencia, resulting in a 2-2 draw for Real Madrid on Saturday night.

In the closing moments of the match, Brahim Diaz delivered a cross to Bellingham, who headed the ball into the net at the far post.

However, referee Gil Manzano blew the full-time whistle before the goal could be counted, leading to confusion and frustration among players and coaching staff.

Ancelotti, visibly disappointed, spoke with the match official on the pitch to understand the reasoning behind the decision. Meanwhile, Bellingham received a straight red card for dissent after the final whistle.

In a post-match press conference, Ancelotti maintained composure and explained that Bellingham’s remarks were not intended as an insult towards the referee but rather as an expression of frustration.

Bellingham reportedly exclaimed, “It’s a fu**** goal,” reflecting the team’s disappointment with the disallowed effort.

The seasoned tactician, with vast experience at prestigious clubs like Milan, Parma, and Juventus, admitted that he had never encountered such a situation in his extensive coaching career. The unprecedented incident highlighted the frustration felt by Ancelotti and his team.

Despite the setback, Real Madrid remains atop La Liga, holding a seven-point lead over Girona, who have a game in hand. Ancelotti’s side remains focused on maintaining their lead and achieving their season objectives despite the disappointment against Valencia.
