With Vincent Kompany set to become the new manager of Bayern Munich, fans are now discovering who will be his right-hand man.
The Bavarian club has faced several challenges in their search for a new manager and even tried unsuccessfully to persuade Thomas Tuchel to stay beyond this season.
After unsuccessful attempts to hire Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso, Ralf Rangnick, and Oliver Glasner, Kompany emerged as the leading candidate.
Kompany, who experienced relegation with Burnley in his debut Premier League season as a manager, could take over at Bayern by the end of the week.
Starting his managerial career as a player-manager at his boyhood club Anderlecht, this will be his third managerial position.
With Kompany’s Burnley contract running until 2028, a compensation package has been negotiated, and an agreement is reportedly close.
According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Kompany plans to bring his backroom staff to the Allianz Arena. His team includes assistant manager Craig Bellamy and first-team coaches Mike Jackson, Piet Cremers, and Floribert N’Galula.
