Chelsea’s Axel Disasi has been benched by France for their upcoming international contests.
The 25-year-old Axel Disasi participated in the France squad during the international break in September.
The Chelsea centre back will not play for France against the Netherlands or Scotland in October, though.
Disasi, who has four senior caps for France, can consider himself fortunate to have been dropped by his nation at this moment, as Les Blues confirmed their squad on X this afternoon. Undoubtedly, the French are able to utilise a lot of defensive talent.
Disasi has continued his excellent start with Chelsea.
After playing every minute up to this point, the center-back has quickly solidified himself as an important element of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven.
He has been a rather consistent addition to the Stamford Bridge backline this season despite his unspectacular style and lack of excessive risk-taking.
Disasi’s £39 million investment by Chelsea is yielding spectacular returns (Sky Sports).
From a selfish perspective, the club may be happy that one of its key starters will stay healthy throughout the international break and be available to play in the Premier League games that follow.
We think a return to France is still possible if the center-half plays like this.
