Mauricio Pochettino reflects on Chelsea’s loss against Everton. Despite Reece James leaving the field due to a hamstring injury, the Blues suffered a defeat following second-half goals by Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin.
Although Chelsea controlled possession and created a few promising opportunities, their efforts ended fruitlessly yet again.
Following consecutive defeats to Manchester United and Everton, Chelsea’s position in the Premier League table has dropped to 12th.
Speaking on BBC Match of the Day after the loss at Goodison Park, Pochettino stated, “Football relies on scoring goals, and we lacked efficiency in front of the goal.”
“I’m disappointed. We didn’t get the points we should have received. Despite possibly being the better team, we didn’t secure the outcome we aimed for.”
“This was a game we should have played and won. We need to analyze this thoroughly. It’s essential to assess the facts, have discussions, and strive for improvement in future transfer windows.”
