Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea escaped disciplinary action from the FA after grabbing Everton defender Nathan Patterson by the throat.
Amid a post-match scuffle at Goodison Park following Chelsea’s loss to Everton, the striker had to be separated from Patterson.
Jackson, disappointed by his team’s performance, directed his frustration towards Patterson.
Since arriving from Villarreal, the forward has faced challenges at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea’s defeat pushed them down to 12th place, closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
There were concerns at Chelsea that Jackson might face retrospective punishment for the throat-grabbing incident.
However, the FA has decided that the incident was addressed at the time and sees no reason to impose further charges on Jackson.
This suggests that Jackson will be eligible to play during the holiday fixtures.
Following the defeat in Merseyside, Mauricio Pochettino expressed his intention to strengthen his team in January.
“We need to show more determination. Then there will be a major evaluation, and once the transfer window opens, we’ll assess what we can do,” he elaborated.
