He proposed deploying Gabriel Jesus, a £45 million player, on the left wing rather than as a central striker, emphasizing Jesus’ success in wider positions. Vieira recommended investing in a top-notch number nine, allowing Jesus to shift to the left wing and putting Gabriel Martinelli on the bench.
Despite the potential surprise of benching Martinelli, Vieira highlighted the benefits of acquiring another quality striker for increased flexibility in player rotation and overall team performance, asserting that elite clubs should have high-caliber options in various positions.
