Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has reached out to his teammate Rasmus Højlund amidst ongoing rumors linking Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain. Rashford, aged 26, has forged a promising partnership with Højlund since the winger’s arrival at Old Trafford last summer.
Højlund has assisted Rashford twice, contributing to their recent success alongside Alejandro Garnacho on the right wing under manager Erik ten Hag.
Their collective efforts have propelled United to an unbeaten streak in 2024, scoring 19 goals in their last seven matches.
Following Højlund’s standout performance against Luton Town, where he scored twice to become the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six consecutive league fixtures, Rashford celebrated the team’s victory on Instagram, writing, “Big win away from home. One step closer to where we need to be!” In response, Rashford encouraged Højlund with a simple message: “Keep going bro.”
However, recent reports suggest that Rashford himself could become the subject of a significant transfer story in the upcoming summer window. With Kylian Mbappe set to depart PSG and join Real Madrid, the French champions are reportedly eyeing Rashford as a potential replacement.
Backed by Qatari ownership, PSG allegedly has around £200 million reserved to fill the void left by Mbappe, with Rashford identified as one of the “world-class” talents on their shortlist.
Despite a challenging season in terms of goal-scoring compared to his previous campaign, where he netted 30 goals, Rashford remains a target for PSG sporting director Luis Campos.
Reportedly, Campos held discussions with Rashford two years ago about the possibility of a move to Paris, although Rashford ultimately signed a contract extension with Manchester United at that time.
