According to reports, Arne Slot is set to take the reins at Liverpool once Jurgen Klopp departs at the end of the current season, following a purported agreement between the Reds and Feyenoord. In a recent interview, the 45-year-old manager expressed his desire to join Liverpool, stating, “The clubs are negotiating, and I’m waiting for the result. My desire to join Liverpool is no secret. I’m now waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement, and I have no doubt that they will.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has since confirmed on social media that a compensation agreement has been finalized between the two clubs, with all contract details for Slot in place. This development comes after a host of other managers, including Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Tuchel, and Thomas Frank, were linked to the soon-to-be-vacant Liverpool position before Slot emerged as the clear favorite.
Slot’s impressive track record at Feyenoord, where he led the team to their first Eredivisie title in six years last season and also won the Dutch Cup this season, has likely contributed to his appeal for the Liverpool job. With two years remaining on his current contract, Liverpool is expected to pay Feyenoord a reported £7.7 million plus £1.7 million in add-ons to secure Slot’s services.
