According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has completed the signing of Marc Guiu from Barcelona for a fee of £5 million after triggering his release clause. The 18-year-old has signed a six-year deal with the Blues, valid until June 2030. Guiu has already completed his medical tests in London, and the formal documents have been sent to Barcelona.
Guiu is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and had a breakthrough season with the Catalan club last year. He made his senior debut in October and went on to make eight appearances in all competitions, including scoring in a Champions League group stage defeat to Royal Antwerp.
This signing marks Chelsea’s second acquisition of the summer, following the free transfer of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham. Meanwhile, Manchester United is expected to sign Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo this summer, doubling his current wages to £228,000 per week.
In other news, Barcelona is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, who was praised by Lionel Messi as “extraordinary.” Additionally, Real Madrid has set its sights on Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori as an alternative to leny yoro.
