According to reports from The Athletic, the Brazilian Football Federation has received written confirmation that Carlo Ancelotti, the current manager of Italy, harbors a strong desire to join them once his tenure with Real Madrid concludes in the summer of 2024.
Beginning January 1st, Ancelotti will be free to enter negotiations about his future with any interested parties, and the CBF intends to publicly address his potential recruitment starting from the new year, seeking to apply pressure on both the coach and Madrid.
Furthermore, the CBF asserts that they have “legal assurances” ensuring Ancelotti’s commitment to assuming the managerial role next summer.
However, this assurance is not legally binding, giving the manager the flexibility to extend his stay at the Spanish capital should he receive an offer of contract renewal from Florentino Perez.
Despite ongoing speculation, Ancelotti has consistently expressed contentment with his current position at Madrid. The club also acknowledges his adeptness in handling pressure—a quality that has posed challenges for some of his predecessors.
Moreover, Ancelotti’s impressive performance this season, despite injuries to several key players, has earned praise from the hierarchy at the Bernabeu, leading to consideration of a potential contract extension.
Nonetheless, as the saying goes, “trophies are won in May,” and any setbacks during the critical stages of the season could prompt Perez to contemplate parting ways with the seasoned manager.
